Thank You Mr. Jon Bon Jovi
Thank you, Mr. Jon Bon Jovi, By Karen Lea
Thank you, Mr. Jon Bon Jovi, for being the spiritual human being you are and for showing so much compassion for all humanity when helping that person in Nashville to realize that they are just as important as you are. It was very clear that you helped that person with all of your heart and soul and showed them that they deserved to be alive and happy just like everyone else.
I cried when I first watched that video because I could not only see the empathy but I could feel it. It is a perfect example of watching not only you but so many people come together and respect that person’s privacy.
I am sure your compassion and presence had something to do with that.
I hope that everyone will learn many valuable lessons on respect and empathy when they watch that video. I promise you, Mr. Bon Jovi that it will be the best video you ever made. And I know you will agree with me on that.
There is NO reason today why any form of media has to take a human being who makes mistakes whether it is a crime or not and, in the process, invade their privacy and then throw their privacy away like a piece of paper after the next story becomes better news. And unless that person is a direct threat to other people’s immediate or forthcoming safety they must be respected and treated like human beings.
News is news, and today, we have become immune to watching it. And as too many sources report, write, film, and drag people through the mud so that their mistakes can be viewed and read, it is not at all becoming to our humanity. And when we so freely name others who make mistakes, whether they were mistakes intended or not - just to have a story we do not do justice and we do not help them or the world.
I understand privacy and public issues, I studied them in college, but I also understand empathy and respect and we have become a society with very little of both. We cannot continue to say we are willing to help our fellow person and change others by using news and social media to point fingers unless we point our finger at the reflection in our mirror first.
I hope this video becomes a learning tool to show ALL people how human we are and that we all belong to one another whether we believe that or not! And unless we start to respect and have empathy for everyone including those who make mistakes, bad or indifferent, we will never be able to improve and repair the world like all of us dream about.
