For You That Does Not Understand

Written Especially For Dina and Her Mom

Thank you Dina for letting me share this with others

who also cannot see their loved ones in nursing care because of Covid-19

For you my loved one that does not understand

Why I don’t come to visit anymore as planned

Virus and storm have toppled our world

We can’t come to see you - we must keep you safe and warm

We think about you daily and our memories when all was safe

When life was simple before the world picked up this new face

The days we played together as children into the night

We still very much love you - oh how I wish we could make it right

I hope you remember me – my attire has changed

I will see you again through a glass windowpane

Someday soon I will able to hold you real tight

And I will never let go until I can love you with all my might
